- Bloodthirsty: Travis Touchdown's career as an assassin began ten years ago for the sake of bloody revenge. Today, it's made him into the person he is: before any other definition of himself, Travis is a killer through and through. Violence is what he's best at, as well as the only way he can express himself; it's a inherent, irreconcilable piece of his identity. This isn't to say he kills for no reason, however. What he longs for more than anything in life is the challenge of a fair and square fight, and for assassins those are death matches more often than not. It's about the challenge and the thrill of going head to head for Travis. If left at peace for too long, Travis becomes restless and anxious, lacking in purpose.
- Resolute: He's stubborn as all hell! If Travis sets his mind on something, he will do it, be it revenge, becoming the top assassin, chasing a woman, or discovering the origins of a lost video game console. Even if it's ill-founded or a lost cause, Travis will continue until he physically cannot; after all, a good man always finishes what he's started. This also extends to what he personally considers fair or right. Though he might not operate on the same moral standard as most people, his personal code is law, and he'll never break it-- nor will Travis ever break his word.
- Impulsive: Travis' emotions run high and he's nearly always acting with his heart (or... other... organs...) instead of his head. Hand in hand with his stubbornness, Travis will often make decisions he knows are bad or reckless and continue to follow them through, if only because they feel correct to him in the moment. On one hand, acting on instinct means he's never betraying his own intentions; on the other, he's often making problems for himself down the line with his bad choices. Sometimes jumping into action like this can be self-destructive, too-- if he's enraged enough to start looking for vengeance, for example, his self-preservation goes completely out the window. At his current canon point, he's trying to reconcile that he needs to take responsibility for the consequences of his actions, but these habits are so ingrained that he'll almost certainly continue Causing Problems On Purpose for a while.
- Empathetic: It might seem contrary to his reckless nature, but deep down Travis is a bit of a bleeding heart. As a person who's also experienced his own pains and regrets, he's quick to lean into and relate to the suffering of others. If someone's been mistreated or betrayed, he'll side with them, sometimes even getting retribution on their behalf. He can recognize pain; he’s capable of mercy and shies away from hurting the innocent. This has an especially big effect on the way that he fights: he never plays dirty, even in a situation where it'd benefit him. In fact, it's this empathy that led to his departure from the United Assassins Association: after recognizing the pain of those who were being abused by the organization's system, he left in disgust. Travis may not be a particularly good person, but he is absolutely capable of caring.
Suitability: Tbh, he's too stubborn to die. Travis is from a canon filled with over-the-top violence and wild plot twists: he's already dealt with everything from space battles, aliens and alternate universes, and breaking into the actual CIA, all the way up to having to confront his own suppressed family trauma. Everything that has already happened to him has been bizarre enough that very little would surprise him anymore. He might not handle everything Noctium throws at him with grace-- he'll get upset or act out, for sure-- but Travis will stick to his guns and definitely won't go down without a fight.
Condition upon arrival: Hale and healthy! His posture's a little bad from all the gaming, and he's been drinking a lot of beer lately, but there's nothing out of the ordinary to note.
Abilities: - Combat: Travis has no supernatural abilities, but he is skilled at swordplay as well as physical combat, focusing on hand-to-hand brawling and wrestling techniques. While his style's rough at times, his strength is not something to be taken lightly. Additionally, he's quick to learn new techniques and is reasonably intelligent. Furthermore, his fighting style is quite rough and unrefined, and he is also mostly accustomed to a beam weapon, which is much lighter than the average sword.
- Power Glove: Originally the controller for the Death Drive MK II gaming console. Adding skill chips to it gave Travis different abilities within the world of the Death Drive, and once altered by the US military, it became functional in the real world as well. The following chips will be active in the glove, and I've added time limits/ranges for RP playability:
-∀ Chip: minor healing to characters within range (5 feet)
-Heavy Chip: slows the movements of characters within range (10 feet)
-Wing Chip: shoots a taser-like blast of electricity in a straight line; also affects those in range (5 feet)
-Ξ Chip: makes Travis invisible for a short time (5 minutes) or until he attacks someone
Only one skill can be active at one time, and once a skill chip is used, there is a cooldown period before it can activate again. Happy to extend a cooldown to whatever is fair or cut the Power Glove abilities entirely if necessary. - Beam Katana: A trusty not-lightsaber from Ebay; behaves exactly like you'd expect a lightsaber would, retractable light blade and all. It also needs to be recharged via ... suggestive... up-and-down shaking.
Inventory:
The Death Glove controller, his beam katana Blood Berry, and the clothes on his back. He's in the Hatoful Boyfriend shirt, just 'cause. (reference)

Also, Travis Touchdown is fourth wall aware and knows he's from a video game; because he's a nerd, he is highly aware of pop culture, including many characters within the game. I already have a fourth wall permissions post ready to go to avoid infomodding or stepping on toes oocly; if the mods would prefer for me to forgo fourth wall breaking entirely I am happy to do so!
