[ Travis, are you trying to look cool with the frame lean?
In any case, Arthur nods at the greeting and steps in after Travis moves to the side in invitation. Of course, everything inside is going to look rather uniform. Just maybe the layout is swapped, from being at a slightly different angle on base. ]
Thanks. I brought notes; hopefully they're not too...much.
[ He knows he can get carried away. ] Where do you want me to start?
Notes...? Damn, I didn't think it was gonna be that detailed. [he blinks in surprise, but takes a seat anyway after pulling a chair out for Arthur too.]
How 'bout with a why? What do people get out of messing around with their dreams?
More like diagrams. It can be hard to explain, otherwise. [ With the levels in dreaming. What all the timing is, the effects that get amplified as one gets further and further down. He's brought a couple technical drawings of paradoxes; one of his favorite things, naturally, to explain.
Arthur takes a seat, not waiting for too long before tipping the chair onto its two back legs. The papers are set in his lap as he considers Travis' question. ]
That depends on who you ask. In my particular line of work, there's a lot of theft– corporations paying well to get information from competitors. Whether that's blackmail, idea generation, formulas, account codes; you get the idea.
[ It's not the squeaky clean side of dreamshare. ]
Others use it for less dirty applications. It started initially, as a military project before being released more publicly. The military wanted to use it for training soldiers since it would ultimately cost less than field work. After going to the civilians, it's been used for research, in the medical field, sciences. Occasionally people use it for themselves. It's not recommended for wholly personal use, though.
